"Torggumma" "Female market trader"

Torggumman, or Mother and Child, is a sculpture by Lena Lervik, erected in 1992, The sculpture depicts a woman carrying a basket and holding a child in her arms. The child pinches the woman's nipple. On the sign it says: "Here to this quarter - Noah's Ark - the people from the past, came from the outskirts of the city, left their horses and carts at the stables, and then walked down to the lock, to cross over to Kornhamnstorg, where they sold their vegetables and fruits. They probably had their children with them. With her apples, the lily and the child, she becomes a symbol of the Great Mother". //Wikipedia
